Skin Peels
What does it do?
A chemical peel can be used to promote a youthful appearance, maintain healthy skin and prevent chronic skin issues. It can improve skin tone and texture, brighten a dull or uneven complexion, minimise fine lines, dark spots and scars and fade discolouration due to sun damage and hormones. It can also kill bacteria, control acne and dissolve blackheads and can stimulate collagen production for firmer skin.
Will it suit me?
It is suitable for any skin type. Those with acne, fine lines or pigmentation may find it particularly effective.*
It is not suitable for those with sunburned, broken or inflamed skin, those taking Accutane or who have taken it in the last 12 months or those with a history of keloid scarring.
Other medical conditions may prevent treatment from being suitable – a full medical history will be carried out at the consultation.
How long does it take?
Each session takes 30 minutes. Course of 6, 1-2 weeks apart may be recommended for best results.
When are the results visible and how long will it last?
Visible improvement is typically from day 5 after the first treatment. The duration of results vary and is influenced by external factors such as sun damage, skincare and smoking.
Is there any preparation/aftercare needed?
Avoid direct sunlight for 48 hrs prior to appointment.
After treatment avoid direct sunlight for 2 weeks and where possible in sunlight, shield face by wearing a hat. Avoid chlorinated water for 1 week. Use SPF 50 and moisturise as advised.
Drink at least 2 litres per day.
