HIFU non surgical face lift

This innovative technology comprising of HIFU, Dermaroller and Skin Hydration, offers a non surgical skin lift which lifts and tightens the face and neck*with just ONE treatment. It can be used to target individual areas, for instance around your eyes or jowls, or can be used to treat your face and neck as a whole.

HIFU Skin Uplift

What does it do?

It uses High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) to deeply penetrate the layers beneath the skin. The skin is heated to 65 degrees C and the layer at which the muscles and soft tissue attach is targeted. New collagen is formed which results in a visible improved firmer, lifted skin with less fine lines and wrinkles.*

Will it suit me?

It suits anyone whose skin has become mild to moderately lax. (Assessments are carried out at a free consultation). Those who have previously had facial surgery may be able to prolong the effects also.

It is not suitable for those with liver or kidney malfunction, skin cancer, fragile or excessively dry skin, active Acne, pustules and papules, taking regular anti-inflammatory or skin thinning medication or with a history of keloid scarring.

Other medical conditions may prevent treatment from being suitable – a full medical history will be carried out at the consultation.

Can it replace a surgical face lift?

No. Although it can improve the overall youthfulness of people with mild-moderate laxity, reporting firmer more toned skin, it does not have the same effect on those with a greater amount of laxity.

Are there any side effects/risks?

SkinMed is completely non-invasive, using only ultrasound, which has been used safely for many years, to target the deep layers of skin.

Most people report it as painless stating that the only sensations they feel can be warmth and/or a slight ache around the jaw area or other boney parts. Post treatment, you may experience temporary redness of the skin, tenderness to the touch, swelling, or tingling.

How long does it take?

Depending on the area/s being treated, between 30-90 minutes.

When will I see results and how long will it last?

Immediate improvement may be seen but the full effect takes up to 3 months, with further improvement sometimes occurring up to 6 months after*.

The results are visible for over 1 year in most people, although it is recommended to touch up yearly to prevent further effects of aging*.

Those with more laxity may require a course Radio Frequency (6-8 x weekly sessions) to further enhance the effect, 2 weeks prior the HIFU.

Is there any preparation/aftercare needed?

The procedure requires no preparation and no anaesthetic. Recovery is immediate.

DERMAROLLER

What does it do?

The 3D Dermaroller rejuvenates skin and improves scarring. It has 480 and 960 microneedles on the small and large head respectively. It delivers Radio Frequency energy deep into the skin which combined with the needling, stimulates collagen formation and tightens elastin fibres. The result of cell renewal and regeneration is a smoother, younger looking skin*.

Will it suit me?

It is suitable for any skin type. Those with open pores, acne scarring, pigmentation issues and stretch marks may find it of particular benefit*.

It is not suitable for those with active Acne, pustules and papules, taking skin thinning medication or with an allergy to topical anaesthetic or a history of keloid scarring.

Other medical conditions may prevent treatment from being suitable – a full medical history will be carried out at the consultation.

Are there any side effects/risks?

The procedure caused tiny wounds which are open. Minimal touching of the skin is advised to prevent infection. You may experience redness, tenderness or stinging, but these are temporary.

Full recovery takes 24-48 hours.

How long does it take?

30 minutes (plus 30 minutes anaesthetic time). For rejuvenation, optimum results are achieved with 3 treatments at 2-3 weekly intervals. For deep acne scarring or stretch marks a course of 3-5 treatments at 4-6 weekly intervals is advised.

When are the results visible and how long will it last?

Visible improvement may be immediate but typically 4 weeks after the first treatment. The duration of results vary and is influenced by external factors such as sun damage, skincare and smoking.

Is there any preparation/aftercare needed?

If you have taken Roaccutane, treatment cannot commence until 6 months after the course of medication was completed.

Topical anaesthetic is applied 30 minutes prior to the procedure.

Post procedure you should wear no make up for at least 12 hours, cleanse with a soothing cleanser and tepid water and gently dry. Hyaluronic Acid can be used to hydrate the skin but active skincare e.g. Alpha or Beta Hydroxyl Acid, Vitamin A or C should not be applied for 3 days. Post treatment extreme temperatures and direct sunlight should be avoided. Make up should not be applied for 12 hours and a make up brush should not be used. SPF 30 or above must be applied whilst any skincare perceived as “active” should not be applied for at least 2 days.
